Von Ha began this series in 2005, when he was investigating the production of the image throughout history. These convex mirrors, or wall sculptures as he calls them, were meticulously developed by the artist using acrylic resin, silver nitrate, and metal. The Magic Mirror runs through the artist’s entire body of work, permeated by performative actions. This piece gave rise to subsequent series featuring the doubles of Tarsila do Amaral and Leonilson.
